Support
As with anything new you may have some questions and run into some unexpected difficulties. We have put together a several resources to anticipate any questions you may have.
I have not received a login and password
While it normally takes just minutes to receive your login and password, there are days when we experience unusually high traffic and there may be a delay in receiving your connection information. If it has been more than 24 hours make sure to check your junk email folder. If you believe that your login has been lost, please contact us at support@previewsqlserver.com
How to Connect to the Labs
To use the Preview for SQL Server you must use Internet Explorer and have installed all of the latest updates for both Internet Explorer and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). You will also have to allow an Active X control to be installed.
To connect to a lab, click the link to the Login page.
This will take to you the MaximumASP Virtual Labs Page. Your username is the email address that you used to register for the Beta for SQL Server and the password is provided in your welcome email.
After clicking on the login button, you will be taken to the lab selection page. Select the lab that you wish to try from the drop down list. Once you have selected a lab, the server name for the lab will populate. There may be times when all the available labs are in use and you will need to try at a later time.
You may receive a message that will ask you to allow an ActiveX control to be installed at the top of your browser window. You must allow this control to be installed. You may also receive an RDP warning below. Select ‘Connect’
Next you will need to login into the Lab Server itself. For the SQL Server R2 Lab, you will need to connect with the following information:
Login: labuser@contoso.com
Password: pass@word1
For all other labs, you will use the same login and password that you used previously.
An RDP window will open within your browser and you will be able to test your lab.
